| IIn order to deeply understand the production and slaughter performance, breeding willingness, breeding profit and development prospect of Pingliang Red Cattle and Simmental hybrid cattle, and promote the high-quality development of Pingliang Red Cattle industry. In this study, through on-site investigation and inquiry, viewing file records, platform data statistics, literature review, etc., the production and operation data of 20 farms ( households ), 10 traffickers, and 5 beef cattle slaughtering enterprises in Pingliang City in the past three years were investigated and counted. Combined with the previous research results, the survey data between the two were compared and analyzed. The results showed that compared with Pingliang red cattle, Simmental hybrid cattle had shorter breeding cycle, higher slaughter weight, excellent eye muscle area in slaughter performance, more stable breeding willingness and higher breeding profit, but its breeding profit was greatly affected by market price fluctuation, which was suitable for conventional cattle breeding. Pingliang Red Cattle has a long breeding cycle and small slaughter weight, but its slaughter rate, meat yield and marble pattern rating are better than Simmental hybrid cattle. The breeder 's willingness to breed is gradually increasing, and the breeding profit is less affected by market price fluctuations. It can be further cultivated and expanded as a high-end beef cattle group with broad development prospects. |
