This article summarizes the progress of research on the main reproductive hormones in female animals, the cyclic development of ovaries and the mechanisms of the "hypothalamus-pituitary-gonadal axis" regulating the reproductive process in female cows. "The hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis plays an important role in regulating the development of pubertal secondary sexual characteristics, estrous cycle and pregnancy and delivery in cows. The study of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis will help researchers to identify the endocrine causes of the decline in reproductive performance of heifers, and help to screen and treat breeding heifers with reproductive disorders. This article provides a theoretical basis for the study and treatment of infertility in breeding heifers. |
