Postpartum paraplegia of cows is a common obstetrical disease in livestock breeding. Its clinical symptoms are mostly listlessness, paraplegia of hind limbs can't stand and walk on its own, and only the forelimbs can act. If the sick animals are not treated properly or in time, their hind limb muscles will atrophy and lead to incurable diseases, which will cause great economic losses to farmers and herdsmen. Therefore, the emergence of this disease needs to attract the attention and research of animal husbandry and veterinary workers. The author treated a case of postpartum paraplegia of primiparous cows caused by unscientific midwifery. There were 3 sick cows in this case, 2 of them recovered within 7 days of treatment, and the other one did not get better after 7 days of continuous treatment, but the symptoms worsened, so the sick cow had to be eliminated. There are many sick cattle in this case, and their conditions are different, which is of great significance for animal husbandry and veterinary workers to learn and reflect. Therefore, the author recorded the causes, clinical symptoms and treatment measures of this sick animal in detail, so as to communicate with colleagues. |
