This study aimed to select high-yielding and high-quality oat varieties suitable for the alpine region of Gannan. Seven oat oat varieties, including Qinghai 444, Qingyin 1, Belle, Aiwo, Mustang, Sweet Oats, and local oats, were compared based on plant traits, hay yield, and nutrient content. The study found that Aivo and Qingyin1 had the highest fresh grass yield, hay yield, and plant height, with 58,000 kg/hm2, 16,380 kg/hm2, and 156.00 cm, and 56,800 kg/hm2, 16,260 kg/hm2, and 151.50 cm, respectively. Sweet Oats and Aivo had the highest crude protein content, with 9.26% and 9.21%, respectively. Based on the comprehensive performance of oat varieties, the six introduced varieties outperformed the local varieties in terms of growth index, yield, and nutritional quality under the conditions of this experiment. Notably, Aiwu, Qingyin 1, and sweet oats exhibited particularly outstanding traits and are therefore more suitable for cultivation in the alpine region of Gannan. It is recommended that these varieties be considered for wider cultivation in the area. |
