Vector-borne diseases are natural infectious diseases transmitted by vector organisms which carried either parasites, bacteria or viruses. Vector-borne diseases can be commonly found in large areas of China, seriously affecting animal health, breeding efficiency and breeding scale. Cattle are the most typical victim of vector-borne diseases, so it is important to correctly understand the types of vector-borne diseases and their hazards, and timely strengthen diseases diagnosis, detection, prevention and vector control as a fundamental approach for the cattle breeding industry. This paper briefly reviews the types and characteristics of cattle vector-borne diseases, diagnosis and detection methods, and vector control technologies, which can provides reference for correctly carrying out the monitoring, early warning, prevention and control of vector-borne diseases. |
