      In Damai Township, Xiahe County, Gannan Prefecture, we conducted a trial of frozen embryo transfer of Angus and Juanxan cattle from 2021 to 2022. The results of our trial are evidence of the effectiveness of this technology, and it is a promising technology for the improvement of cattle breeds in the area. Results: In our trial, 187 cattle underwent simultaneous oestrus treatment totally, of which 137 cattle were in estrus, giving an estrus rate of 73.26%. 69 cattle were transplanted, giving a recipient availability rate of 50.36%. 35 of these cattle conceived, giving a conception rate of 50.72%. 33 of these cattle calved. In addition, the transplantation of the Angus cattle resulted in a difficult calving rate of 14.29%. The recipient cattle also had a difficult calving rate of 14.29%. Conclusions: The conception rate of embryo transplantation in the alpine region of Gannan can be effectively improved by enhancing the operation level of professional technicians, optimizing the feeding management practices, refining the transplantation environment, and screening embryo breeds suitable for this geographic area. These measures will also facilitate the application and proliferation of cattle embryo transplantation technology.
