Abstract: [Objective] In order to explore the effects supplementary feeding development and economic benefits of Xinjiang Brown calves growth, [Method] 20 Xinjiang Brown calves divided into experimental group and control group. The calves experimental group were supplemented with concentrate on the basis of lactation, weaned at 4 months old, and the control group was fed stages and weaned at 6 months old. At the same time, the body height, oblique length, chest circumference, tube circumference and body weight were measured at the age of 4 and 6 months, and calculated the daily weight gain and economic benefits. [Result] The results showed that compared with the control group, the body height and oblique length were significantly improved of the 4-month-old experimental group, and the oblique length, chest circumference, tube circumference, experimental group body weight and daily gain were also significantly improved at the 6-month-old(P<0.05). The results economic benefit analysis showed that the early supplementary feeding calves could significantly improve the income of farmers and herdsmen save the feeding cost. Compared with the traditional feeding method, the cost of raising each calf to 6 months old could be saved by 342 yuan. [Conclusion] In conclusion, early supplementary feeding can improve the growth performance of Xinjiang brown calf, improve the economic benefits of breeding and increase the economic income. |
