      Pinan cattle is a new group, which is bred by the grading up between Piedmont cattle and Nanyang cattle. Because of its thin fur, dense and elastic cortex, it is an ideal raw material for the production of high-grade leather. Its meat is tender, fresh and tasty, high in protein and vitamin A, low in fat and cholesterol, so is deeply loved by consumers. Henan provincial government also strongly supports the development of related industries of Pinan cattle, which brings opportunities for the development of Pinan cattle. At the same time, it also puts forward higher requirements for variety protection and breeding improvement. This article discusses the current situation and problems of breeding and improvement of Pinan cattle, and puts forward some suggestions and prospects for the further development of Pinan cattle.
